This page is an example of Stephen Wolfram's one-dimensional cellular automata. The color of each cell ( pixel ) is dependant upon the three cells above it. When the page is loaded, all of the cells are set to off. There are eight rules to determine the colors, and they are visible above the canvas. For example, clicking on the bottom square inside Rule 2 will create a straight line down the canvas. You can play with various combinations to create interesting effects
